Born of a change in ownership in July of 2008, Abode has taken the former “Burley’s Natural Home Supply” to the next level of green building. With the reinvention of the store, Abode affirms its focus on providing today’s best sustainable building materials. Our mission is as follows:
Abode Natural Building Supply is committed to promoting awareness and use of natural, sustainable and non-toxic building products throughout Missoula and western Montana . Through education, excellent customer service and a friendly, comfortable retail environment, we support our customers in making conscious purchasing decisions that consider both personal and environmental well-being.
Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services:
Abode carries a wide array of environmentally-friendly interior finishes as well as an assortment of cleaners and garden supplies. Flooring choices include Marmoleum, cork, FSC-certified hardwoods, bamboo and all-natural carpet. Abode now offers on-site paint tinting of zero-VOC YOLO Colorhouse and AFM Safecoat paints, along with American Clay natural earth plaster (ask about our DIY plaster workshops!). Abode is also proud to offer PaperStone and EcoTop countertops, among other counter surface options. Many of Abode’s products contribute points toward LEED certification.
