About ClearSky Climate Solutions:
ClearSky Climate Solutions is a climate change consulting firm and broker of carbon offsets. We design climate change mitigation projects, or projects that reduce the atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases, with landowners in numerous countries and involved in various economic activities. These projects generate certified and registered carbon offsets that we in turn broker to parties interested in offsetting their climate change footprint.
ClearSky is also involved in consulting for companies or institutions to assist them with understanding their climate change footprint, their emissions liabilities, and developing strategies to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases. Through various types of improvements in efficiency, whether energy, time of production, travel time, etc., it is possible to reduce a company or institution’s greenhouse gas footprint. These improvements in efficiency also generally lead to reductions in costs of production which are an additional asset that comes out of a thorough greenhouse gas audit. Once the client has defined their emissions and developed a strategy to reduce them, we work with the client to develop a diversified mitigation plan to offset the emissions that cannot be eliminated.
ClearSky formally started as a business focused on native species reforestation in Panama, to sequester CO2 from the atmosphere into native species forests established on degraded and abandoned lands. That first incarnation was 1998, and has led through numerous projects and activities all over the world. ClearSky is a more comprehensive climate change consulting company and brokerage that is focused on a more diversified project portfolio and a market oriented approach.

Our entire business model is premised upon promoting a sustainable culture in the citizens of the world. Not just the large businesses that likely will face greenhouse gas regulations, but the smaller ones, the institutions, and even the individuals. ClearSky is in existence because of the need for our actions to help catalyze a change in behavior, towards a less carbon intensive life. Without a significant change in our emissions of greenhouse gases, our species will face very significant challenges to maintain our livelihoods and way of life on our shared planet.
Important Dates & Facts:
2008 – ClearSky Climate Solutions comes into being when it incorporates CO2OL-USA into its operations.
2007 – First project to be certified under the rigorous Climate, Community & Biodiversity Alliance Standards for Land-based climate change projects. Our project was not only the first project certified, but achieved the Gold Level, the highest.
2002 - First voluntary carbon credit trade from a forestry project in the US – brokered by Natsource from our forestry project in Panama.
Awards & Achievements:
Fast 50 Creative Company Award, by Fast Company Magazine, 2004.
Project design work that supports rural peoples in El Salvador, Ecuador, Panama, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Indonesia for USAID and the World Bank’s environment program.
