About eMpanadas:
I sell homemade, Argentine-style empanadas at the Clark Fork River Market using mostly locally grown, organic produce and meats purchased on site at the market. My mission is to enrich the culinary diversity of Missoula by providing healthy and delicious empanadas delivered hot and fresh to the market by bicycle.

Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services:
I purchase all ingredients from independent, locally-owned businesses and producers. Most ingredients, save for the olive oil and olives, are from the Missoula valley or the greater Montana. As much as possible, all of my purchasing and transportation for the business is done by bicycle and bike trailer. While I can\'t pay a living wage yet, I start my employees at $8.00/hr. I also recycle, and kitchen scraps are fed to the PEAS farm pigs.

Important Dates & Facts:

Julio Amoedo and I started the business in 2004 thanks to the opening of the new Clark Fork River Market. All other markets were not accepting new vendors. The Clark Fork market enabled me to make immediate contacts for purchasing local ingredients directly from the producers.

We sell lots of buffalo empanadas!!!

We also switched to Montola safflower oil for the dough--no more icky hydrogenated vegetable shortening!
