| About Missoula Institute for Sustainable Transportation:
MIST works to build sustainable transportation systems. We focus on safety equity and environmental soundness. We specifically: seek out and advocate for optimal street design, improve transportation options, and define and promote principles of sustainable transportation. MIST also includes the Free Cycles program, which provides bikes, parts, skill-building and tool-use for those in need. Free Cycles operates the Community Bicycle Shop. We encourage car-free living and traveling and provide tools to achieve this. We build trails. We give away free bikes and teach bike repair. We have a shop that utilizes pedal power whenever possible. We advocate multi-modal solutions at a city and state level on most major transportation projects.
