The Montana Water Trust (MWT), located in Missoula, Montana, is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2001 to pioneer cooperative solutions for mitigating the chronic dewatering of the state's freshwater ecosystems. MWT is the first and only water trust in the state of Montana and the only group in the state entirely dedicated to incentive-based streamflow restoration. We concentrate on improving instream flows in tributaries where even a small amount of water has a significant effect on the aquatic ecosystem.
Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services:
We are devoted to working with Montana landowners to achieve more sustainable water use practices so that there is enough water to go around for landowners as well for fish. In our office, we strive to reuse and recycle everything possible. Employees are paid a living wage and receive benefits and flex-time.
