| | About North Slope Sustainable Wood: Beyond Conservation...
Restoration
Treadlight™ flooring, trim and picture frames are made by North Slope Sustainable Wood from small–diameter Western larch – also known as tamarack – trees from forest restoration sites in Montana and the Northern Rockies. We go beyond sustainably harvested with our “greener than green” approach by culling the stunted trees from overcrowded forests and allowing the largest and healthiest trees to thrive.
The tight growth rings, honey-and-cinnamon grain and dark pinhole knots of this “suppressed–growth” larch give Treadlight™ flooring, trim and picture frames its stunning appearance and durability.
By using this beautiful, sustainably harvested flooring and other Treadight™ wood products, you help restore America's forests to their original old–growth conditions and wildlife habitat. Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services: North Slope Sustainable Wood is a western Montana business utilizing natural resources harvested in a beyond sustainable practice as we improve forest health with each harvest we make. All our timber comes from the forests of the Northern Rockies, is milled, kiln-dried and moulded here in western Montana. Our flooring, trim and wood products help gain green building credits in the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating systems and certification.
