| | About Studio Modera: About Studio Modera: Studio Modera specializes in creating houses that explore a new type of moderism, a warmer, more sustainable modernism that is site sensitive as well as environmentally respectful. We believe in remaining a small boutique style firm, focusing on one project at a time. This enables us the luxury of providing personalized service, meticulous attention to detail, and remarkable individualized designs. We believe in tailoring each home that we design to its owner’s needs as well as its owner’s dreams. Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services: Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services: Studio Modera encourages its clients to build smaller more efficient homes. A sustainable home is not just about assembling a kit of “green” parts but rather understanding how the house functions as a system, and how it fits into the larger natural system around it. Some of the techniques and tools used by Studio Modera are passive solar design, super insulated wall and ceiling systems, ground heat source pumps, natural ventilation for cooling, living roof systems, recycled materials, repurposed local materials, low VOC materials, solar voltaic panels, and native landscaping.
