| | About Sustainable Business Systems: Sustainable Building Systems, LLC offers an integrated suite of energy efficiency and renewable energy services that result in immediately actionable and economically attainable steps toward reduced energy consumption and improved building durability and health. We provide new construction and retrofit clients with a whole-building systems analysis, present a menu of options and then work to prioritize and implement the most appropriate project specific approach, to satisfy the needs of our clients and help move us forward toward a more environmentally, economically and socially sustainable society. SBS starts with a thorough energy efficiency analysis based off of plans, or using performance testing and diagnostic tools and then works to implement a range of technologies including; solar hot water, photovoltaics, ground and air source heat pumps, whole building ventilation systems and heat recovery ventilators, greywater treatment and rainwater catchment, wind turbines, small-hydroelectric systems and a range of low and no VOC building envelope related products that help establish an efficient and healthy building. In addition, we are certified to provide verification of performance requirements under the Residential Energy Services Network, National and Northwest Energy Star for Homes, NAHB/MBIA, LEED for Homes and Mortgage Industry Association programs. We also provide information on relevant tax incentives and work with local financing partners to help lessen the up-front costs of implementing efficiency improvements and renewable energy technologies. Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services: SBS addresses the triple bottom line in the work that we do and the way in which we do it. We seek to improve the resource use intensity, durability, comfort and health in our existing building stock and in buildings that are coming online. We work to increase the accessibility to sustainable practice by acting as a clearinghouse and integrator of sustainable materials and technologies across professional affiliations. We are working to install photovoltaics and a solar hot water system in our office building, we ride our bikes for daily transportation, we recycle office materials through MVR and we provide a livable wage for our employees. We also choose local products and services whenever possible, participate in online seminars and teleconferences whenever available and participate in community oriented organizations in our free time.
