Climate Countdown –
A Community Discussion on Global Cap and Trade

WHEN: Tuesday, November 17th from 7:30 p.m.
WHERE:
University of Montana - UC Ballroom, 3rd Floor UC Center

FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

With projections for significant climate change and Congressional debate heating up, cap and trade is a “hot” topic across the country, making Climate Countdown – A Community Discussion of Global Cap and Trade a must attend event.  The event begins with a panel giving a brief overview of climate issues and illuminating what U.S./International Energy Policy, Cap and Trade legislation and emission reductions projects could mean to our world, our nation and our communities.  With an eye to the numerous possible permutations of a cap and trade system and the interesting examples of voluntary and mandatory cap and trade systems working today, a majority of the event will be allocated to dialog between the panelists and attendees of the options and their ramifications. This will be a Climate Neutral Event!  Greenhouse Gas emissions will be mitigated with Gordondale Dairy project certified carbon offsets purchased from ClearSky Climate Solutions. The event is free and open to the public.

THE PANELISTS:
· Landon Vandyke - former Associate Director of International Affairs and Climate Change for the White House Council on Environmental Quality and current special advisor at the U. S. Department of State

· Murali Kanakasabai - VP and Senior Economist with the Chicago Climate Exchange

· Keegan Eisenstadt - CEO and President of Missoula’s ClearSky Climate Solutions.
